GMDD GP7 AND GP9

Note: GP7's #5818 to 5827 when purchased by the NYC in January 1956 are former C&O units and operated in NYC service in C&O blue & yellow paint with NEW YORK CENTRAL painted over the Chesapeake & Ohio. These units operated this way for up to a year, after which, they were painted two-tone grey lightning stripe, then later into the regular freight black/grey lightning stripe. When St. Thomas painted these units - the lightning stripe on the nose of the units was slightly different than units painted in the US. The GP9's were delivered in black/grey lightning stripe. Also, Units #6039 and #6040 had steam generators, resulting in the air tanks being mounted on the roof. Units #5818, 5819, 5820, 7429, 7430 and 7431 were re-assigned to the US in the mid sixties.
